Current scenario and mindful meditation-Part-1:
God has allowed us some spare time to do whatever we love during these quarantine days. There are many who are delving into the deep sea to fish out the hobbies and interests they wanted to pursue but could not do it due to routine activities. Social media too has come forward to market our skills which is really helping to display our creativity to our friends.
During all these days, I too thought of what new thing I can add to my daily routine so that a part of me is surrounded in positivity with increased mental strength amidst all. So obviously to allow positively to come in, negativite news has to be stopped. So there I reduced watching TV news from 3 times to daily once. This gave me more productive time for exposure to other creative things including that of mindful meditation.
The unfortunate incidents of increased number of mental cases including the recent death of a reputed Indian actor has again raised the basic issue. Are we, as a society or even our Doctors, doing enough for them especially during this challenging time. With the limited time per patient, are the Doctors able to give holistic treatment to the needy even if they are interested to treat them other than allopathic medicine. Are they able to create personal space for the patient to introspect and be with their inner self. Spiritually to me is so much important to explore in this special time to remain grounded to the present with a positive outlook. So should not we seek help from each other with our compassion, knowledge sharing and go back to our glorious past.
Why Mindful meditation? Because it allows us to live in the present and not worry about what will happen in future. Many organisations have similar concepts like some of them mention the drama is already written before our arrival on this planet and we are merely an actor in this world stage. So why worry? If we consider there is one Supergod or Paramatma residing in a dham surrounded by an aura or hallow who has been creating this drama since ages, this is a plausible logic to some. But the question remains as to how to penetrate the aura and have a face to face meet. This is answered by understanding the logic of mindfulness which is to control what one experiences via five sensory organs and most importantly by one’s state of mind via thoughts and emotions. We all know the proverb ‘See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”. But in reality it’s an illusion which is in constant collision with our inner self (soul) and easily triumphs. We know that the basic nature of our soul is peace and to understand this all we need is to spend some quality time with ourselves. Mindfulness is our basic human nature to be aware of what we are doing and not overreacting about what is going on in our surroundings.
